Bill-fish Fishing - Ningaloo Reef

 

The full day bill-fishing option departs early from Tantabidi boat ramp and will cover an area over the Ningaloo Reef between Tantabidi and Sal Salis at a depth between 60 metres to 1000 metres. This area is referred to as “West Side”

Target fishing will include –

  • Black Marlin – Range between 40 kg to 200 kg
  • Striped Marlin – Range between 40 kg to 100 kg
  • Blue Marlin – Range between 100 kg to 300 kg
  • Sailfish – Range between 15 kg and 45 kg

Season

The Exmouth Gulf and Ningaloo Reef region is one of the few places in Australian waters where anglers can catch such a variety and abundance of billfish species throughout all 12 months of the year.  The bi-catch in these waters when trolling for billfish includes –

  • Tuna
  • Spanish Mackerel
  • Wahoo
  • Barracuda
  • Dolphin Fish (Mahi Mahi)

Included in the day

Early departure from Sal Salis for transfer to Tantabidi boat ramp, about 30 minutes north of the camp. 
All refreshments including beverages, tea and coffee, light snacks and lunch will be served on-board.
All fishing gear, lures, services of guide and all 'Sal Canis' running expenses.
Return to Sal Salis in time for sun-downers and dinner.
